Villagers under the guidance of Richard Myerscough reassessed the geology of the valley in which the village is placed and the surrounding Wolds. The main discovery was a hitherto unrecognised fault running across the northern part of the parish. The area around Partridge Hall also produced new information. The team were able to examine the geological stratigraphy from the Cretaceous to the Triassic
